BRILLION, Wis. — May 13, 2026 — Ariens Nordic Center is proud to announce Olympian biathlete, Paul Schommer officially joined the organization as an employee, further strengthening its commitment to excellence in outdoor sports and community programming, while focusing on youth in the region.

A Wisconsin native from Kimberly, Schommer has long-standing ties to both the local community and Ariens Nordic Center. As a newly retired member of the U.S. Biathlon Team, which is an organization proudly sponsored by the Ariens brand, Schommer has built a strong and enduring relationship with Ariens and its Nordic Center initiatives over the years. Schommer is ultimately credited for putting biathlon on the map for Ariens and the Brillion community. His return to the region in this new capacity marks an exciting continuation of that partnership.

A seasoned competitor on the international stage, Schommer joined the U.S. Biathlon National Team in 2017 and has competed at the highest level of the sport. He represented Team USA in biathlon at two Winter Olympic Games, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, and has competed extensively on the Biathlon World Cup circuit. Known for his dedication, endurance, and precision, Schommer brings a wealth of elite athletic experience and a deep passion for the sport of Nordic skiing and biathlon.

In his new role, Schommer will play an integral part in developing and supporting programming at Ariens Nordic Center. He will work with youth of all ages and skill levels, while focusing not only on biathlon, but many outdoor sports and recreational activities to promote healthy active lifestyles in our community.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome Paul to the Ariens Nordic Center team,” said Monica Ariens, Sr. Director of the Ariens Nordic Center. “His Olympic experience, passion for outdoor sports, and commitment to youth in our community will make him an incredible asset. Paul’s presence will elevate our programming and inspire kids in our community for years to come.”

Schommer’s addition reinforces Ariens Nordic Center’s mission to create a premier destination for Nordic skiing and biathlon while building a strong, engaged community around outdoor sports.

Ariens Nordic Center invites the community to join in welcoming Schommer to his new role.
