Brillion, Wis. (Feb. 8, 2022) Ariens, the original company of the AriensCo family of brands, announced today its sponsorship of the 2022 American Birkebeiner, the largest cross-country ski race in North America. The 48th Annual American Birkebeiner will be held in the beautiful north woods of Cable-Hayward, Wis. February 23-27.
Known as the King of Snow® for their world-famous two-stage Sno-Thros®, Ariens feels a strong connection to its home state winter event. Monica Ariens, managing director of AriensCo hospitality at AriensCo, says the company is thrilled to sponsor an event that is such a great fit for the Ariens brand.
“Community is a big part of our culture at AriensCo,” says Ariens. “Being headquartered in Brillion, Wis., we take pride in sponsoring an event located in another quaint Wisconsin locale. The initiatives we have moving forward in our company’s hospitality division also align with the cross-country race, so we are excited to see this partnership come to fruition.”
The American Birkebeiner (nicknamed, “Birkie”) began in February of 1973 after 35 determined skiers gathered to race one another from Lumberjack Bowl in Hayward, WI to Telemark Lodge in Cable, WI. The 50km (31 miles) skate and 55km classic race now draws more than 10,000 skiers and 20,000 spectators worldwide.
Ariens will host Ariens Lodge during the Birkie week of events, which will open Wednesday, February 23 on Main Street in Hayward. Ariens Lodge will feature:
• Outdoor fire stoves to stay warm
• A retail shop featuring Ariens brand apparel and merchandise
• Happy hour with co-sponsors, Earth Rider Brewery and Backroads Coffee
• A Deluxe 24 Sno-Thro® raffle with all proceeds donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Lac Courte Oreilles
• Team Birkie Athlete meet and greet opportunities on February 24 and 25
